Second Tackling Stigma Conference announced for November 2026

Following a sold-out event in 2024, the Tackling Stigma Conference will return on 23–24 November 2026 at UNSW Sydney, Australia.

Hosted by the Centre for Social Research in Health - the team behind Tackling Stigma in Healthcare - the conference will focus on identifying and addressing stigma in healthcare settings across a wide range of identities, health conditions, and practices. It will bring together researchers, people with lived and living experience, health practitioners, policymakers, advocates, and community organisations to explore practical, cross-cutting approaches to overcoming stigma as a barrier to care.

The two-day program will feature keynote speakers, concurrent presentations, workshops, and an evening function. A dedicated panel of people with lived and living experience will also examine how stigma shapes access to and engagement with healthcare.

  • Dates: 23–24 November 2026

  • Location: UNSW Sydney, NSW

  • The call for abstracts will open in March 2026.
